Respite Care

This is short-term accommodation that we can offer for as short as one week, across all our units, Residential, Nursing and Dementia. The reasons for respite can be varied. You will get the same level of care and attention as all other residents.

Some residents return for repeated periods of respite whilst their main carers go on holiday or a one-off stay whilst their house is being refurbished. Some residents are unsure whether a care home is the right choice for them, and respite care provides an opportunity to experience residential care without the commitment. Most residents who do experience respite often decide to stay as they enjoy their experience of meeting new people and companionship.

During a respite stay, residents have full access to our communal lounges, gardens, activities, and freshly prepared meals based on individual dietary needs. Our experienced care team takes the time to get to know each guest, ensuring their personal preferences and care needs are fully understood and respected.

We work closely with families, GPs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that each respite stay runs smoothly, with tailored support plans in place for comfort and peace of mind.

Whether it's enjoying a hobby, joining a group activity, or simply relaxing with a cup of tea and a chat, respite guests are encouraged to make the most of their time with us and feel part of the Oakview community.
